UK construction sector rebounds amid plan for stamp duty holiday

Housebuilders increase activity but job cuts in the industry likely to be ahead

Building firms expanded activity in June at the fastest pace in more than two years in June as the chancellor put the finishing touches to potential plans for a six-month stamp duty holiday.

Housebuilders accounted for the bulk of the uplift in construction after the PMI construction survey found that 46% of firms reported an increase in business compared with 27% that experienced a reduction.

Can I buy a flat in my name only and exclude my husband?

I am happily married but you never know what will happen in the future

Q I finally have enough money to be able to put down a deposit to buy a one-bedroom flat in London. My problem is that, although I am married, I would like to buy this property in my name only. Is this possible? And how?

The reason is that, although I love my husband and we are happy together, you never know what will happen in the future. So I want to buy the flat and be sure that in case of divorce the flat is entirely and only mine.
